Bollywood superstar, Priyanka Chopra, has made a mark in the film industry and become the heartthrob of nation in a short span of time. That has not stopped her from exploring more avenues. “Chopra made her Hollywood debut with Quantico, a US thriller-drama series. Now she will be seen playing a negative character in an upcoming film Baywatch,” informs Vaikundarajan.
In an instagram video post, Hollywood superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson expressed that the actor is good at playing negative roles as compared to the positive ones.
He also tweeted saying - She’s cool, but does bad even better. Can’t wait. #Baywatch.”
The film Baywatch is a film-remake of the 90s hit TV-series of same name. The film follows the lives of Los Angeles county life guards patrolling the beaches of Los Angeles, California. The series was the most watched TV show at the time and starred It starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, among others.
“Chopra is a versatile actress and a recipient of National Award. There is no doubt that the talent is there. She could well become the first Indian actress to go full scale global. That is a proud moment for all Indians,” says Vaikundarajan.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra and Rohit Shetty's commercial entertainer Dilwale starring Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are releasing this Friday.
“The budget of both films is over Rs 100 crore with huge distribution cost. Both the films have a strong content and a heavy star cast. So it will be difficult to predict the blockbuster between these two movies,” says Vaikundarajan.
Bajirao Mastani has been a long pending project for Sanjay Leela Bhansali. After having approached over half a dozen actors for the film the epic is now finally seeing the light of day says Vaikundarajan.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali had wanted to take his project Bajirao Mastani on floor right after the completion of Devdas back in 2003 says Vaikundarajan.
However, for various reasons the movie could not be taken on floor and after a delay of almost 12 years, the movie has now earned a title of a ‘dream project’ for Bhansali.
The first look of the movie which is slated for release in December this year is finally out and was shared by Eros and Ranveer Singh says Vaikundarajan.
Three images, one of each of the leads were released in order to generate hype around the teaser which will release on 16th July, 2015.
Ranveer Singh looks every bit the Bajirao Peshwa he plays in the movie. Deepika Padukone looks unnecessarily bronze and Priyanka Chopra is seen with a forlorn look on her face in the released image.
Since 2003, Aishwarya Rai-Salman Khan, Kareen Kapoor-Salman Khan, followed by Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif were approached for the film says Vaikundarajan.
The industry has begun to believe that this project may never take off but the time has come for Bajirao Mastani to finally be shot and released in 2015.

Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra brought in the celebration after the 62nd National Awards. Priyanka Chopra shared a selfie on Instagram with Kangana Ranaut and Shraddha Kapoor along with a caption “GirlsNightOut, Queen #MaryKom together. Both the actresses seemed to have a gala time and let their hair down on the dance floor. The who’s who of tinsel town joined in their celebration. Top Bollywood celebs such as Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan, Shraddha Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Shobha Dey, Anupam Kher and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali among others were seen at the party. As ‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl was away in Goa, he couldn’t make it for the celebration but, sent in his wishes to the actress.
Kangana seemed excited about her win and couldn’t stop speaking about it. On being asked to get her trophy out she called it her “Indian Oscar”. The film’s chartbuster `Maine hoton se lagai toh, hungama ho gaya…’ played on till wee hours and all the actors present hit the dance floor and the party continued until the wee hours of the night, says Vaikundarajan.
‘Mary Kom’s’ producer who admired Priyanka Chopra for her role in the movie said that her performance was the Performance of the year. Priyanka couldn’t stop blushing on the compliments she received. She coaxed Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the dance floor and he hit the dance floor and shook a leg with the actress. Priyanka is currently working with the director on his new film ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
Kanagana is currently shooting for upcoming films ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ directed by Anand L. Rai and ‘Katti Batti’ directed by Nikhil Adhavni and Priyanka Chopra will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do and ‘Baijrao Mastani’ directred by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, says Vaikundarajan.

Mary Kom, the film is based on the life of the boxing champion and Vaikundarajan feels that such movies bring out the best of Bollywood and also help in leaving a mark in peoples mind. Vaikundarajan feels that the Director of the film, Omung Kumar is pretty good at his job and has beautifully depicted the life of Mary Kom.
The official trailer of Mary Kom was launched by Priyanka Chopra and the entire cast of the film. The film which is based on the life of an Indian boxer, Mary Kom seems to be quite promising as per Vaikundarajan and he is anxiously waiting to see the film.

Vaikundarajan feels that Priyanka Chopra is really hopeful for the movie and he wishes her good luck for the movie. The movie is set to release on the 5th of September 2014 and Vaikundarajan can’t wait to watch it.
