Rajini Murugan has emerged as a clear winner among the films released during Pongal. “Tamil Nadu has only 950 screens that are eligible for new releases,” informs Vaikundarajan. Rajini Murugan was the only film that managed to get hold of big screens while other movies had to share screens and shows.

The film is targeted towards families and managed a remarkable reach due to its release during the festive season. “It has already grossed 18 Crores in its first four days,” adds Vaikundarajan. The movie has, especially, reached out to a wider audience in smaller cities and towns.

The movie is a Tamil comedy starring Sivakarthikeyan and has registered itself as the industry’s first blockbuster of the year. It is the biggest blockbuster delivered by the actor till date.

The movie is directed by Ponram and also starts Keerthy Suresh, Soori and Rajkiran in supporting roles.

“Although the critic reviews were mixed, the movie has managed to impress the audience,” concludes Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan On National Youth Day



On the National Youth Day to be celebrated on 12th Jan, several activities such as adventure sports, seminars and pep talks will be arranged across the country. “These events will help impart skill training amongst the young people of India,” says Vaikundarajan.

National Youth Day is celebrated in honour of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. This year, the government will be focusing on the theme of youth for skill, development and harmony, informs Vaikundarajan. “The biggest event will be arranged for in Chhattisgarh. The event will be organized by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.” he adds. The 5-day fest will be be inaugurated by Union minister Nitin Gadkari.

ASUS ZenFone Max has been listed on e-commerce websites Amazon and Flipkart to be priced at INR 9999. “The phone will be launched in India today and boasts of 5000 mAH battery,” informs Vaikundarajan.

The smartphone is 4G enabled and the launch coincides perfectly with the New Year, he adds. According to some resources, the ZenFone Max is designed to suit the need for people who want a longer battery life. With its 5000 mAH lithium-polymer battery, ZenFone Max can last up to 37.6 hours with 3G talk time.

“This is equivalent to 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi usage,” says Vaikundarajan. He further adds that the smartphone can run a staggering 72.9 hours of music playback and 22.6 hours of video playback in fully charged conditions.

The phone is slim at 5.2 mm and will be exclusively available at stores in the second half of January. The primary camera specs are 13MP while 5MP for front camera. The camera has a unique lens that allows capturing of up to 400% brighter photos in low light conditions.

“The phone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 64GB. For a price tag of INR 9999, the phone has decent specs and should be able to tap into the market successfully,” predicts Vaikundarajan.
