Vaikundarajan On Nagarjuna’s Next Venture

Debutant director Kalyan Krishna will be ecstatic working with the Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna. The film is in post-production and titles Soggade Chinni Nayana, informs Vaikundarajan.

As per some sources, the film is a pure village drama where Nagarjuna will be seen in a double role. Playing the female lead opposite the superstar are Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripati.

“The title of the film is an inspiration from a famous song from the film Dasara Bullodu starring Nagarjuna’s father,” says Vaikundarajan. The film is going to be a family venture with Akkineni Nagarjuna and P Ram Mohan as producers.

Majority of the film is being shot in Rajahmundry while key scenes are being filmed at the famed Ramoji Film City and a 5000 year old Vishnu temple located in the city of Mysore.

The launch of music has been scheduled for 25th December in Hyderabad with Tollywood superstars expected to attend the event. The launch will take place at Shilpa Kala Vedika.

“The film will be released on 15th January as a pongal treat to all Nagarjuna fans. All the best to the actor and the film crew,” says Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan Comments On Box Office Clash Between Bajirao Mastani & Dilwale

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra and Rohit Shetty's commercial entertainer Dilwale starring Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are releasing this Friday.

“The budget of both films is over Rs 100 crore with huge distribution cost. Both the films have a strong content and a heavy star cast. So it will be difficult to predict the blockbuster between these two movies,” says Vaikundarajan.

Ravi Arasu's latest release – Eetti is a sports and action Tamil movie featuring Atharvaa as the lead actor and Sri Vidya as the female lead. The movie is written and directed by Ravi Arasu and is produced by S. Michael Rayappan under the banner Global Infotainment Pvt. Ltd. The new Tamil movie Eetti is based on sports genre. “After a long time, a movie based on sports is being released in Tamil,” observes Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan Congratulates Team India On Their Win

India emerged victorious in the Kotla test against South Africa by scoring 337 runs and consequently winning by 3-0 in a four-match series. “This is a great moment for Team India and we should now look for a white wash,” says Vaikundarajan.

Team India jumped to the second spot from its earlier fourth spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Rankings. “Post victory, India is ahead of Australia and Pakistan, who have slipped one place each to be third and fourth respectively,” informs Vaikundarajan.

Requiring a mammoth 481 runs to win, South Africa relied heavily upon their ultra-defensive strategy before being knocked out for 143 in 143.1 overs, with the last five wickets falling for an insignificant seven runs. Indian bowlers were persistent with their aggressive bowling strategy which ensured the victory of India.

Kohli admitted after the match that he was amazed by South Africa's dead-bat approach to every ball. “Our patience was tested but our bowlers never panicked, the fielders never panicked and they came out in flying colours,” Kohli said.

In his second series win as captain, Kohli’s team has shown that they can win convincingly even when the conditions aren't entirely in their favour or when the adversaries offer a battle. Vaikundarajan sends his hearty congratulations to Kohli and his team for making India proud.

Vaikundarajan Shares His Views On Suriya's Telugu Debut

Tamil superstar Suriya is finally making his Telugu debut through Trivikram Sreenivas directed Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie.

“Trivikram Sreenivas is a very popular Telugu director with a large fan base. By working with a director of such stature, actor Suriya will surely be able to establish a strong foothold in Tollywood industry,” says Vaikundarajan.

According to the sources, the yet-to-be-titled movie is set to be released by mid-year 2016. The movie is produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations and the music for the film is likely to be given by Devi Sri Prasad.

“The movie project was announced a few months ago and it has already generated lot of enthusiasm among his fans,” commented Vaikundarajan.

Suriya is currently waiting for the release of Tamil psychological thriller movie '24' and soon after he will start shooting for the movie 'Singham 3'. Suriya has likewise played an important part in Pandiraj's up and coming film Pasanga. The film is produced by Suriya himself.

Will Suriya be able to capture the Telugu audience's heart with his project with Trivikram Sreenivas, only time will tell. Meanwhile, Vaikundarajan sends his best wishes to superstar for all his endeavours.

Dilwale will be made under the banner of Red Chillies, SRK's production house. The making of the movie was launched today that almost reveals the climax of the movie. Vaikundarajan calls this promotion unusual yet intriguing.

The film has been in the news every now and then. Sneak peeks from the set were released some time ago. But one that got the audience attention was video featuring the lead pair and directed by Rohit Shetty as homage to 20 years of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. DDLJ was the movie that made the pair superstars and their onscreen chemistry has lived forever.

The making video of the Dilwale film was posted on Youtube. It features Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon shooting the final scene of the movie inside. The location for the shoot was an artificially created set in Ramoi Film City, Hyderabad.

“This is a great moment for us in the field of Squash. We are making history,” Vaikundarajan said.

Dipika Pallikal posted a 9-11, 11-5, 3-11, 11-1, and 11-6 against her English opponent. “Throughout the game, the young Indian shows a well-maintained balance in physicality and mentality,” adds Vaikundarajan.

An early lead in the game played an important role in the outcome. However, the English athlete was not going down easily as she showed signs of comeback. As per reports, Waters was suffering from sore back that showed signs of pain and struggle during the match.

“Take nothing away from Dipika Pallikal though,” adds Vaikundarajan. “She played with resilience and with this form she can go a long way.”

In another match, Joshna Chinappa tasted defeat at the hands of sixth seeded Egyptian Omneya Abdel Kawy. The match ended 12-10, 11-6, 11-5.

This loss means we will not see a historic quarter final between two Indians in the next round.

Vaikundarajan On Hindi Remakes Of South Film “Thani Oruvan”

The town is abuzz with the news that Salman Khan buying the rights to remake a South blockbuster. Many are asking, why a remake?

“Four out of seven films starring Salman Khan have been remake of Telugu and Malayalam films. Hence, it should not be surprising that the actor is looking towards south,” says Vaikundarajan.

The ongoing trend of remaking South films in Hindi has not really gone down well with the audience. While Salman is not known for following trends, he has two options before him - Mohan Raja’s Thani Oruvan (originally starring Jayam Ravi)  and Kaththi, the Tamil film directed by AR Murugadoss that entered the `100 crore club the fastest.

Khan’s team has shown a keen interest in Thani Oruvan. It is believed that Salman himself is impressed with the project and is keen on remaking the film. Ram Charan will be seen in the Telugu remake of the same film. He also recommended Salman’s name to the director. However, the only hindrance seems to be the director’s interest in making the Hindi version as well.

The other film Kaththi revolves around farmers committing suicide. According to close sources, this issue has deeply troubled the actor.

“Both movies are great options to choose from. It would be interesting to see what Salman puts his heart to. Nevertheless, audience expects the best of him,” concludes Vaikundarajan.

Laughter, excitement, zest, fun, scenic backgrounds; it is all there. Tamasha looks like a jolly romance movie. However, director Imtiaz Ali is not known for clichéd romance movies.

With movies like Jab We Met and Rockstar under his wings, there has to be something different about Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha too. In the last quarter of the trailer, you see a completely different side of the movie.

“Why always the same story?” the trailer asks. After their brief affair in Corsica, Ved and Mona have returned to their routine life. And this is where Ali’s style of movie begins to unfold.

“It is surreal and yet closer to life. Something the audience can relate to,” notes Vaikundarajan. Much like his previous movies, Tamasha treads deeper into the relationships and tries to understand its challenges in different situations.

However, for various reasons the movie could not be taken on floor and after a delay of almost 12 years, the movie has now earned a title of a ‘dream project’ for Bhansali.

The first look of the movie which is slated for release in December this year is finally out and was shared by Eros and Ranveer Singh says Vaikundarajan.

Three images, one of each of the leads were released in order to generate hype around the teaser which will release on 16th July, 2015.

Ranveer Singh looks every bit the Bajirao Peshwa he plays in the movie. Deepika Padukone looks unnecessarily bronze and Priyanka Chopra is seen with a forlorn look on her face in the released image.

Since 2003, Aishwarya Rai-Salman Khan, Kareen Kapoor-Salman Khan, followed by Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif were approached for the film says Vaikundarajan.

The industry has begun to believe that this project may never take off but the time has come for Bajirao Mastani to finally be shot and released in 2015.

"There was a lot on the line with Andy. I think he was going for his first Wimbledon in '12. So obviously it was always going to be tough. He had lost some majors before that (three finals in total)," said Roger Federer.

"It was obviously embarrassing," said Murray. "But in individual sports, it's all about who performs on that day."

Xiaomi has taken to its facebook and twitter accounts to hint at something which is going to be revealed on June 30th.  As per the post it might the launch of the Redmi Note 2. Xiaomi already has Mi Note and Mi Note Pro which have high end specifications, say Vaikundarajan.

S Vaikundarajan observes that all brands are currently obsession over dropping prices, Xiaomi might also offer a price drop for existing Redmi Note but there is no confirmation on the same by company.

The company also added that they will make the announcement tomorrow at 10AM on its official social media pages.

There is no such official announcement for launch event on June 30, but one can hope for a surprise from the company as well. CEO of Xiaomi had confirmed the launch of upcoming Note on Weibo with a screenshot.

The specifications of Redmi Note 2 have been shared in news and are as follows; it has 5.5-inch full HD display, dual-SIM, 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. On the OS front it is expected to sport Android 5.0 or Android 5.1 with MIUI 6 skin atop it.

Gmail has introduced the ‘Undo Send’ feature for the regular Gmail Inbox which was previously found only in Gmail Labs. However, the launch of this feature for mass usage has definitely created waves across the tech and digital industry.

S Vaikundarajan Is Excited To See SRK and Kajol On Screen In ‘Dilwale’ Again

SRK and Kajol are all set to spread the magic of DDLJ on-screen in the movie ‘Dilwale’ much to Vaikundarajan’s delight. The Dilwales of DDLJ will be seen in this Rohit Shetty’s much hyped movie.

The movie has been confirmed for a release on 18th December this year and the announcement which was made on Wednesday this week, took social media by storm, says Vaikundarajan.

The hash tag #dilwaleMagic began to trend within an hour of the announcement and shared limelight with the already trending #BB TrailerTomorrow hash tag.

Right after the confirmation of the release date, an eyeball grabbing first look was also released in which SRK and Kajol look like sunshine on a cloudy day.

Vaikundarajan says it is obvious the cirector, Rohit Shetty is trying to leverage the magic that made SRK and Kajol the most romantic couple of 90’s Bollywood.

Reeling in the romantic magic of the original Dilwales will be new age Dilwales Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.

The film will be an action comedy and a trademark Rohit Shetty bonanza. Dilwale is being shot in Bulgaria since some of the sequences shot in Mumbai and Goa were not thought to be good enough.

The film has created sufficient buzz owing to its huge cast, says Vaikundarajan.

The trailer of the Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra starrer movie ‘Brothers’ was unveiled on June 10th, says Vaikundarajan. The trailer of the movie was released by Dharma Productions on twitter.

The almost three-minute long clip took Twitter by storm with the hash tag #BrothersTrailer trending within moments of its release. Minutes after the trailer released, Twitterati were all praises for the cast and the director, says Vaikundarajan. The movie also features Jackie Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles.

Akshay plays David Fernandes, a school teacher who quits his job to become a full time mixed martial arts fighter to raise money for his ailing daughter. Siddharth Malhotra plays Akshay's younger brother Monty Fernandes, who seems resentful of Akshay's talent and feels overshadowed by him. He fiercely declares "David jaisa kabhi nahi bann sakta," when called 'incompetent' by his alcoholic father Jackie Shroff. The two finally come face-to-face in the fighting ring and are pitted against each other in a tension-packed fight to the finish. The emotional undertone is provided by glimpses of David and Monty's childhood memories and David's moments with his wife, played by Jacqueline Fernandez, says Vaikundarajan.

The movie is an official remake of the 2011 Hollywood movie ‘Warriors’ and is directed by Karan Malhotra of Agneepath fame, co-produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Endemol India.

The movie is set to hit the theaters on August 14th, says Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan on Stanislas Wawrinka’s Win at The French Open 2015

Vaikundarajan congratulates Stanislas Wawrinka on his win at the 2015 French Open. The Swiss eighth seed played magnificently in a 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 victory at Roland Garros.

Wawrinka, 30, brought an end to Djokovic's 28-match winning streak. This was his second Grand Slam title. Djokovic tried his best to become the eighth man to complete the set of all four major titles, says Vaikundarajan.

The 28-year-old had been a strong favourite to finally get his hands on the Coupe des Mousquetaires after beating nine-time champion Rafael Nadal and third seed Andy Murray, but he was outplayed by Wawrinka, says Vaikundarajan. "It was an incredible atmosphere on court and I felt emotion like I never have before," said Wawrinka.

He further added,” "I still have a problem to really realize that I won the French Open," Wawrinka told reporters. "It's always the same after winning a big title. You are a little bit lost in your mind." Speaking about his opponent Djokovic Wawrinka said,” "I know he's looking badly and desperately for this title," 

Wawrinka’s opponent Djokovic said "Certainly those two matches were very big in terms of physical demand and mental, emotional as well. Still, I was today feeling pretty fresh as much as I could. He further added, “Maybe in some important moments I didn't feel I had that explosivity in the legs, but at the end of the day he was just a better player."

Vidya Balan is famed for her dedication to her role and how she loves to get under the skin of her assigned characters, says Vaikundarajan.

Similarly for her upcoming movie ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ Vidya Balan is rumoured to have trained under a florist so as to bring a realistic touch to her character.

In Mohit Suri's ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ Vidya is employed to be a florist at a hotel run by Emraan Hashmi who is supposed to be a rich owner of numerous hotels across the world.

Vidya Balan requested that she be trained under a florist right from the pre-production phase of the movie so that she looks confident and authentic while arranging flowers on-screen.

Mohit Suri was impressed with her request and immediately packed her off to a 5-start hotel of repute to get trained and polished in the art of flower arrangement, says Vaikundarajan.

On her dedication, Mohit says, "Vidya is known to give her very best for the roles she gets sold on to and she got deeply connected with her character, Vasudha, in Hamari Adhuri Kahani."

Hamari Adhuri Kahani is slated for a release on the 12th of June. It is meant to question the very crude definition that society has for love.  The movie will pose a simple reflective question to its audiences - is marriage the true culmination of love?, ponders Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan On The OnePlus One Smart Phone

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus took to their official microblog site handle to announce the unveiling of their new product, says Vaikundarajan. The company posted a teaser tweet on its official account saying they are ready to unveil something big on June 1st guessing it to be OnePlus Two.

“We’re always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry. And we think it’s time for change. Find out more on June 1st,” the company posted on its Twitter handle.

The post was followed by a picture of OnePlus One but the smartphone is half-erased. Earlier, the benchmark test revealed that next 'OnePlus' model runs Android 5.1, has an ARM Qualcomm @ 1.55 GHz with 8 cores. Like the first-generation model, this device will also have a 3GB RAM, says Vaikundarajan.

A report on GizChina had also noted how OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had discussed the specifications of his company’s upcoming smartphone on China’s Weibo site. Lau had spoken about how the OnePlus Two will come with Snapdragon 810 and will be launched in the third quarter of 2015.

Previously, the company confirmed that OnePlus Two is all set to be unveiled in the third quarter of 2015. The rumour mills suggest that it will be priced approximately at USD 400, whereas the predecessor was priced at USD 299 at launch, says Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan On The Movie ‘Singh Is Bliing’

The God of Dance turned Director Prabhu Deva unveiled his upcoming movie ‘Singh Is Bliing’, says Vaikundarajan. The movie stars comedy and action hero Akshay Kumar and British model Amy Jackson of the ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ fame in the lead roles.

The film also stars actress Lara Dutta and is produced by Akshay Kumar's production house Grazing Goat Pictures, says Vaikundarajan. The movie is a sequel to the Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Singh is King'

In the first look, the 47-year old actor is seen with his arms around 23-year old Amy Jackson. Instead of sporting his colourful turbans which were synonymous with his look in ‘Singh is King’, Akshay Kumar's look includes a pensive stare hidden by aviators, biceps, a bandana tied as a turban, sleeveless white ganji and pants. Whereas, Amy on the other hand goes the all-legs way, with a casual look comprising of denim cutoffs, white ganji and a denim jacket.

The film, which was shot in Goa also stars Bipasha Basu, and Yo Yo Honey Singh and is slated to release on 2 October, 2015. The film is a comeback for the Akshay and Prabhu Deva duo after the blockbuster ‘Rowdy Rathore’, says Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan On SpiceJet Completing 10 Years

SpiceJet popularly known as a Low fare airline launched a three day sale starting on the account of completing 10 years of operations, says Vaikundarajan. The discount offer is called #CelebrationSale and was launched on Tuesday, 19 May, 2015.

This offer is valid only till midnight of May 21 and the tickets can be booked for travel between July 1 and October 15, 2015. It has also been said that only limited seats are available and the offer is on first-come-first- serve basis.

“The offer is available for all domestic flights of SpiceJet either director connecting flights network. International flights are not included in this offer,” the airline said.

Another Massive Earthquake In Nepal, Says Vaikundarajan

Another massive earthquake hit Nepal in less than three weeks which killed 83 people including 17 in India and one in Chinese Tibet, injuring nearly 2,000 with thousands staying outdoors as the country felt dozens of aftershocks overnight, says Vaikundarajan. The tremor felt this time was reportedly 7.3 in magnitude.

The total death toll in Nepal since April 25th has crossed 8,200. 382 people have been reported missing by the Home Minister. It has also been reported that eight houses were destroyed in the capital of Kathmandu following Tuesday’s earthquake.

Operations at Kathmandu's Tribuvan International Airport were suspended and Nepal's parliament, which was in session when the quake struck, was adjourned. "These are difficult times for Nepal, I appeal for all friends to help us and urge our citizens to stay strong," Prime Minister Sushil Koirala said.

Renowned actress Kangana Ranaut was nominated for her 2014 movie ‘Queen’ directed by Vikas Bahl alongside Actress Priyanka Chopra for ‘Mary Kom’. Kangna bagged the Best Actress National Award, says Vaikundarajan. Priyanka Chopra’s film ‘Mary Kom’ produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali bagged the ‘Most Popular Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award’.

Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra brought in the celebration after the 62nd National Awards. Priyanka Chopra shared a selfie on Instagram with Kangana Ranaut and Shraddha Kapoor along with a caption “GirlsNightOut, Queen #MaryKom together. Xiaomi is getting ready for the event to launch a new Xiaomi Mi 4i on Thursday April 23, 2015 in New Delhi.  However, the name hasn't been confirmed yet. Snapdeal Buys Online Recharge Platform “FreeCharge” for $400 Million: Vaikundarajan

Online e-commerce portal ’Snapdeal’ has acquired online recharge platform ’FreeCharge‘ for $400 million that is Rs 2,400 crores, making it the largest deal in the online consumer internet space in India.

Snapdeal CEO Kunal Bahl said on Wednesday that the joint entity would create the country's largest mobile commerce platform with over 40 million customers. About half of that comes from ’FreeCharge‘. The Delhi-based company did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction, but sources said the deal is said to be 30% in cash and 70% in stock. 

The deal is said to be an ammunition ton battle with rivals in online retail sector. It is said ’Flipkart‘, with which Snapdeal is in severe competition, has 30 million registered users. Flipkart had acquired online clothing firm ’Myntra‘ for over $330 million last year.

Buying the ’FreeCharge’ platform will give Snapdeal access to a younger audience while most of the Snapdeal customers range from 25 to 35 whereas most of FreeCharge customers range from 18 to 25 age group.  FreeCharge was started in 2010 and its core strength was mobile phones, it became more popular amongst the youth because of its offers, says Vaikundarajan.

Snapdeal’s Kunal Bahl said its motive is to add different related offerings around its core platform.  He also added it’s just like what the Chinese e-commerce platform Alibaba has been doing. “Moreover, Snapdeal is backed by Japanese telecom and internet major SoftBank Corp, which is also a major stakeholder in Alibaba.” shares Vaikundarajan.

Most Awaited IPL 2015 Starts Tomorrow, Vaikundarajan

The most awaited T20 matches of IPL 2015 (Indian Premier League) start tomorrow April 8, 2015. Before that the grand opening will be hosted today April 7, 2015 at 7:30 pm, at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. This will kick the start season 8 of the Indian Premier League. The Film, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ To Be Released This Friday Says Vaikundarajan

The film by Dibakar Banerjee ’Detective Byomkesh Bakshy‘ is slated for released this Friday the 3rd April. The film’s star cast consists of Sushant Singh Rajput as Byomkesh Bakshy  and Anand Tiwari in a supporting role along with Swastika Mukherjee.

The story is written and created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.  The interesting thing about Byomkesh Bakshy is he dislikes being called a detective and prefers being called ‘satyanweshi’, which means ‘the seeker of truth’.  “There used to be a television series aired on Doordarshan in 1993 named ’Byomkesh Bakshi‘ which starred Rajit Kapoor, K.K. Raina and Sukanya Kulkarni,” shares Vaikundarajan.

The film is set to release tomorrow and up until now the director Dibakar Banerjee has managed to keep the mystery around his next detective drama intact.  However, a video on YouTube has let the cat out of the bag. A two-and-half-minute video shows Sushant Singh Rajput, donning the same cloak that Byomkesh's nemesis donned in the trailer. The video also shows Sushant acting in a scene in which he is seen murdering someone Thus, we can speculate that Sushant Singh Rajput is indeed the mystery man.

Until now the mystery was intact but this video on YouTube sure is a spoiler. Previously Amir Khan’s film ’Talaash‘was also leaked on the internet a day prior to the film’s release. When asked, Dibakar Banerjee assured that there cannot be any spoilers. Whatever people will think, the film is beyond that. The director also said that the film will end on a note such that the audiences will wait for next series says Vaikundarajan.

The ‘Queen’ lead actress, Kangana Ranaut won the 62nd National Film Award for her powerful performance in the movie. The movie won two National awards. The other movie to grab awards was ‘Haider’ which bagged five awards, ‘Mary Kom’ bagged key honours.

This is the second National Film Award for Kangana Ranaut, she has previously won the honour for best supporting role in ‘Fashion’.

Kangana celebrated her birthday on March 23rd  and landed the National award as a if a belated birthday gift.. The movie ’Queen‘ is about a girl who goes on a foreign honeymoon alone after being ditched by her fiance just before the wedding.

The movie ’Court‘was declared the Best Feature film. Kannada actor Vijay won the Best Actor award. A vernacualr language film called ‘Killa’ was named the Best Marathi movie, ‘Kuttram Kadithal’ won best Tamil film award, ‘Chandamama Kathalu’ for Telugu.

The best singer female award was grabbed by Saivam (Tamil) and Uttara Unnikrishanan.
