Vaikundarajan Congratulates Kangna Ranaut on Her National Award Win for ‘Queen’

Renowned actress Kangana Ranaut was nominated for her 2014 movie ‘Queen’ directed by Vikas Bahl alongside Actress Priyanka Chopra for ‘Mary Kom’. Kangna bagged the Best Actress National Award, says Vaikundarajan. Priyanka Chopra’s film ‘Mary Kom’ produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali bagged the ‘Most Popular Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award’.

Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra brought in the celebration after the 62nd National Awards. Priyanka Chopra shared a selfie on Instagram with Kangana Ranaut and Shraddha Kapoor along with a caption “GirlsNightOut, Queen #MaryKom together. Both the actresses seemed to have a gala time and let their hair down on the dance floor.


The who’s who of tinsel town joined in their celebration. Top Bollywood celebs such as Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan, Shraddha Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Shobha Dey, Anupam Kher and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali among others were seen at the party. As ‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl was away in Goa, he couldn’t make it for the celebration but, sent in his wishes to the actress.

Kangana seemed excited about her win and couldn’t stop speaking about it. On being asked to get her trophy out she called it her “Indian Oscar”. The film’s chartbuster `Maine hoton se lagai toh, hungama ho gaya…’ played on till wee hours and all the actors present hit the dance floor and the party continued until the wee hours of the night, says Vaikundarajan.

‘Mary Kom’s’ producer who admired Priyanka Chopra for her role in the movie said that her performance was the Performance of the year. Priyanka couldn’t stop blushing on the compliments she received. She coaxed Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the dance floor and he hit the dance floor and shook a leg with the actress. Priyanka is currently working with the director on his new film ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

Kanagana is currently shooting for upcoming films ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ directed by Anand L. Rai and ‘Katti Batti’ directed by Nikhil Adhavni and Priyanka Chopra will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do and ‘Baijrao Mastani’ directred by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, says Vaikundarajan.
