SpiceJet popularly known as a Low fare airline launched a three day sale starting on the account of completing 10 years of operations, says Vaikundarajan. The discount offer is called #CelebrationSale and was launched on Tuesday, 19 May, 2015.

This offer is valid only till midnight of May 21 and the tickets can be booked for travel between July 1 and October 15, 2015. It has also been said that only limited seats are available and the offer is on first-come-first- serve basis.

“The offer is available for all domestic flights of SpiceJet either director connecting flights network. International flights are not included in this offer,” the airline said.

SpiceJet, which flew its first commercial flight between Delhi and Ahmedabad in 2005 on a Boeing 737 aircraft, completes its first decade of flying on May 23, 2015, says Vaikundarajan.

"When SG101 took off from Delhi bound for Ahmedabad on May 23 2005, the iPhone was still two years away, Twitter was still a year away, and Facebook and YouTube were new-born babies. In that sense SpiceJet was one of the new breed of ventures - young, dynamic, different, friendly and approachable and with a sense of humour, somewhat iconoclastic, and with a refusal to accept the status quo. Ten years later, our DNA remains the same, which is why we are the warmest, friendliest, trendiest, and most fun airline in India today, the airline with spunk and with heart, the airline that has truly enabled more Indians to fly than ever before. Through ups and downs, SpiceJet’s passion and spirit has never dimmed" said Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer, SpiceJet Ltd.

Spicejet went through an ownership change in January 2015 with founder-promoter Ajay Singh stepping in as the chairman, says Vaikundarajan.
