Kangana Ranaut Wins The Best Actress National Film Award For ‘Queen’: Vaikundarajan

The ‘Queen’ lead actress, Kangana Ranaut won the 62nd National Film Award for her powerful performance in the movie. The movie won two National awards. The other movie to grab awards was ‘Haider’ which bagged five awards, ‘Mary Kom’ bagged key honours.

This is the second National Film Award for Kangana Ranaut, she has previously won the honour for best supporting role in ‘Fashion’.

Kangana celebrated her birthday on March 23rd  and landed the National award as a if a belated birthday gift.. The movie ’Queen‘ is about a girl who goes on a foreign honeymoon alone after being ditched by her fiance just before the wedding.

The movie ’Court‘was declared the Best Feature film. Kannada actor Vijay won the Best Actor award. The movie ‘
Haider‘ won several awards including Best Choreography, Music Direction, Costume Design and Male Playback Singer - Sukhwinder Singh. A vernacualr language film called ‘Killa’ was named the Best Marathi movie, ‘Kuttram Kadithal’ won best Tamil film award, ‘Chandamama Kathalu’ for Telugu.

The best singer female award was grabbed by Saivam (Tamil) and Uttara Unnikrishanan.

Priyanka Chopra starrer biopic movie ‘Mary Kom’ was named the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment.

Vaikundarajan congratulates all the winners of the 62nd National Film Awards.
