Tevar May Dampen The Hype Around PK, Says Vaikundarajan

“Masala flicks are as much a part of the Indian culture as are pickles and Tevar surely hits the spot with its well-built screenplay and catchy song and dance”, says Vaikundarajan.

Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha’s performances arrive as a surprise to him. Each of the actors has added an extra element of reality to their characters. Making them lovable and entertaining at once.

Manoj Bajpayee plays a twisted character just as we have seen him do in his previous projects. Nonetheless, the man does not fail to surprise the audiences with his portrayal of the precise obsessive, compulsive facets of the character, Gajender Singh.

Arjun Kapoor plays a young Kabaddi player from Hyderabad. His boyish charms and hot-blooded performance bring to life the instantly charming Pintoo. Sonakshi Sinha’s performance as Radhika proves to be refreshing from her previous tom-boyish caricatures. In this movie she is seen as a sultry and composed woman of strength.

“The comedy in the movie was on the verge of being pre-meditated and lacked the necessary nuance of comic timing. All in all not a disappointing venture,” says Vaikundarajan.

Vaikundarajan is extremely delighted that Rajnikanth’s Lingaa will be relasing this Friday, on December 12. The movie is releasing on Rajnikanth’s birthday making it a double wammy to watch the movie. The movie is being made by K. S. Ravikumar. The Rajnikanth starrer, also includes Bollywood hottie Sonakshi Sinha and south Indian starlet Anushka Shetty. The music is composed by AR Rahman.

A little birdie whispered to Vaikundarajan that Lingaa’s plotline is said to be revolving around the contentious Mullaiperiyar dam, with Rajinikanth supposedly playing the chief engineer of the dam.

Before the movie could be released, there has been a lot of controversy over its script says Vaikundarajan. The director K.S. Raikumar has been accused of plagiarism. However, the Madrass High Court has dismissed the writ petition.

Even though, Vaikundarajan wishes to see Mr Rajnikanth’s on the big screen after a long time, he is threading with caution as Kochadaiyyan wasn’t that impressive. However, he sincerely hopes that this is not the case with Lingaa. What he does know for certainty is that there will be a lot of Rajnikanth fans waiting to see what Rajnikanth brings in the picture.

All the best to Lingaa.
